Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive: Gazes

A spatial film experiment with Texas Ballet Theater and Blackmagic's URSA Cine Immersive workflow, designed to test how dance, camera language, and presence can make choreography feel close enough to breathe with.

Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive: Gazes is a live audience experience for Texas Ballet Theater built around a clear story, a focused interaction model, and a memorable visual world.

The work was developed with Groove Jones for Texas Ballet Theater, keeping strategy, craft, production, and delivery connected from the first idea through final output.

My role was to protect the emotional reason for the format. As Executive Creative Director and Experience Strategist, I helped shape the piece around proximity, restraint, and choreographic presence, making sure the Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive workflow served the dancers instead of showing off the technology for its own sake.

The project sits across reel and motion, creative content, experiential, so the solution had to work as both a strong creative read and a practical system people could understand quickly.

I focused on the decisions people feel before they notice them: hierarchy, pacing, interaction rhythm, image language, and the small details that make the work feel finished.

The result is a immersive experience that makes Blackmagic URSA Cine Immersive: Gazes feel clear, memorable, and built for the audience it was meant to reach.
